This workshop will explore different, sometimes discipline-preferred, approaches to education practitioner research and the connections among them. We will examine the traditions and trajectories of various approaches to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), Teaching-as-Research (TAR), Classroom Research (CR), and Action Research (AR). We will also discuss intersections with Discipline-Based Education Research (DBER). This workshop will have implications for publication strategies, definitions employed in your publications, and research design.
