Course Design for Effective Learning

Tuesday, September 8th, 2015
10:00 – 11:00
Presented By: Mr. Eric Main
Venue: CB1-207

According to L. Dee Fink, "A systematic, learning-centered approach to course design offers the only chance we have to ensure that the majority of students have a significant learning experience." In this workshop you will begin revisions to several course design components: the course vision statement, the student learning outcome statements, the assessment plan, and the student learning activities. The workshop is based on the work of Grant Wiggins and Jay McTighe in Understanding by Design (1998) as well as best practices from the literature on "Universal Design for Learning" (UDL).
