Faculty Seminar: Early Engagement of Students in Research: Best Practices for Diversity and Inclusion

We invite all faculty to an upcoming event sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Research and the Office of Research and Commercialization, Early Engagement of Students in Research: Best Practices for Diversity and Inclusion, on Friday, October 14 from 1:30-2:30 in the Student Union, Cape Florida Ballroom. Sandra Gregerman will discuss the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) at the University of Michigan. This national award winning program creates research partnerships between students (first year, second year, and transfer) and faculty. In 2010-2011, 1300 students participated in UROP working with over 800 research mentors. The seminar will include a set of structured program components to support early engagement of students in research.
