INVITATION TO SHARE SOTL WORK
Part of our upcoming website redesign includes a “Sharing Your SoTL Work” page which will feature UCF faculty SoTL work presented or published in recent years. If you have published a paper or presented your SoTL work at a conference in the past 2–3 years, please share the information with us so that we can feature it on this page. You may send references of your work to fctl@ucf.edu.

STUDENT CONSULTANTS ON TEACHING
The Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning’s Student Consultants on Teaching (SCOTs) are currently available for the Fall 2018 semester. The SCOT program connects faculty with highly-trained undergraduate and graduate consultants who can conduct focus groups with students or observe face-to-face, online, or mediated classes and provide student-centered, objective feedback to support faculty as they think about and practice their pedagogy. Requests can be made using via Qualtrics at https://ucf.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_e500SvNyCOU2OwZ, and inquiries can be sent to Landon Berry, SCOT Coordinator, at landon.berry@ucf.edu.

NOVEMBER 16TH TEACHING AND LEARNING DAY
Join us November 16th for a deep dive into your choice of two teaching methods: Reacting to the Past role play pedagogy or inquiry-based teaching. Each session will be facilitated by faculty experts who have extensive experience in the teaching method and have published scholarship on the topic. The deadline for registering is November 13th.

ADOBE LICENSE POOL REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
The Division of Teaching and Learning has a limited pool of Adobe Creative Cloud licenses to offer students on a per-semester basis; these licenses enable access to the entire suite of creative products, including software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. If you have an idea for students to use these products in your class, submit a proposal by December 14th at http://ucf.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8upfRUU6LhaZjNP. Licenses can only be provided to students who are actively enrolled in a class. Please also note that the Division cannot provide technical support for Adobe products beyond activating and managing student Creative Cloud accounts.

FACULTY WRITING CLUB FALL 2018
Having trouble getting into a good writing rhythm? Need to get away from your office to get a change of perspective and a little privacy? Forget the coffee shop—join your colleagues on Thursday and Friday mornings from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in FCTL for a loosely structured writing session. We'll take five or six minutes each week to go around the room and state a goal for the time block and then spend the rest of the time working on our individual projects. Bring your own laptop or use an FCTL computer. And of course there will be coffee. Everyone is welcome!
