FEBRUARY 9 TEACHING AND LEARNING DAY
Workshops will be provided by Faculty Center staff and colleagues from partner units across campus. Lunch will be provided for the first 30 registrants. Workshop topics will include: team-based learning, adaptive learning, open educational resources, planning career advancement, FERPA, student consultants on teaching, applying for a QEP grant, and scholarship of teaching and learning.

COURSE INNOVATION PROJECT: HANDBOOK OF ACADEMIC RESOURCES FOR INTEGRATIVE LEARNING

This Course Innovation Project will focus on developing an electronic, interactive faculty handbook of classroom assignments connecting course / program learning outcomes with career readiness.  The emphasis of this QEP funded project will be to create a handbook of assignments from across the university and instructors using the handbook will be able to select and modify assignments as they see fit.  To receive a $500 grant, faculty must attend four cohort meetings and submit an assessment for inclusion in the handbook,  an accompanying rubric for the assessment, and a narrative  explaining how to best utilize the assessment across disciplines.  The cohort will meet on the following Tuesdays from 12:00-2:00p.m.:  January 23, February 20, March 27, and April 10.  To apply for this opportunity, please email Suzy Jardaneh by January 22 at susan.jardaneh@ucf.edu with a brief description of an assessment you would like to build for the handbook.

FACULTY WRITING CLUB SPRING 2018
Join a faculty writing club to start your spring off with a focus on productivity and camaraderie. Having trouble getting into a good writing rhythm? Need to get away from your office to get a change of perspective and a little privacy? Forget the coffee shop—join your colleagues on Thursday and Friday mornings from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in FCTL for a loosely structured writing session. We'll take five or six minutes each week to go around the room and state a goal for the time block and then spend the rest of the time working on our individual projects. Bring your own laptop or use an FCTL computer. And of course there will be coffee. Everyone is welcome!
