Adobe Spark Workshop
Join our Adobe Student Ambassadors for an introduction to using Adobe Spark to produce professional-quality images, audio/video recordings, and webpages for various contexts, from in-class or conference presentations to digital narratives and other multimedia assignments. Usage of Spark is free, but you need a registered Adobe ID to create content—start at www.adobe.com and click “Sign In” in the upper-right corner.
Adobe Professional Development Workshop
Join our Adobe Student Ambassadors for an overview of how Adobe software can help you and your students enhance your professional presentation of yourself through your resume and e-portfolio. Products that Adobe offers for this purpose include InDesign, Behance, and Portfolio. While InDesign and Portfolio require paid access through Adobe Creative Cloud, usage of Behance is free with a registered Adobe ID—start at www.adobe.com and click “Sign In” in the upper-right corner. Even if you don’t have access to this software currently, feel free to attend for a demonstration of capabilities. TOPR: CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
The editorial board of the Teaching Online Pedagogical Repository (TOPR) is pleased to announce a call for submissions for new TOPR entries from now until September 15, 2017. Selected entries will be announced in October 2017. This peer-reviewed scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) resource is emerging as a go-to destination for faculty/designers in search of ideas for online and blended courses. Each entry is highly focused on one teaching practice with a solid description, concrete example(s), relevant professional practice or research literature, and key words connecting to other practices. REGISTER FOR FACULTY SEMINARS IN ONLINE TEACHING—STORYTELLING, AMPLIFYING THE HUMAN CONNECTION IN ONLINE LEARNING
Concerned that the online classroom may feel isolating to students? Bring the online classroom to life through storytelling. Please join us on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 1 PM in Library-161b to learn how storytelling facilitates a welcoming space, empowers students’ creative thinking, and bridges connections for meaningful learning. As a feature of this 30-minute seminar, an instructor showcases her learners’ digital stories.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS: INTEGRATIVE LEARNING THROUGH COMMUNITY-BASED RESEARCH PROJECTS
The community-based research (CBR) initiation grant supports proposals that represent collaborative partnerships among community partners, students, and faculty teams. Projects should advance the development of community partner capacity, student integrative learning through the high-impact practice of undergraduate research, and facilitate the evolution of faculty scholarly identity as it relates to community-identified needs. INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S ISSUES CONFERENCE (2018 IWIC WOMEN IN TECH: THE NEXT GENERATION OF ACTIVISTS)
The Women’s and Gender Studies program presents the 3rd international conference on women’s issues. With over 12 countries in the past, our IWIC is a great chance to meet international scholars, present your research, bring your classes and encourage your colleagues and graduate students to participate. Some of the research areas invited are art, health, literature, education, political science, communication, gender studies, youth, leadership, technology, engineering, psychology, folklore, music, photography, documentary, activism, media, rhetoric, history, philosophy, theater and performance. We encourage UCF registered student organizations to table at the event.

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH 2017
All faculty, staff, and students are invited to submit a program proposal for UCF’s 2017 Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration! The deadline to submit a program proposal is July 28, 2017, and accepted programs will be included in UCF’s Hispanic Heritage Month Calendar (September 15 - October 15, 2017). FACULTY WRITING CLUB SUMMER 2017
Join a faculty writing club to start your summer off with a focus on productivity and camaraderie. Having trouble getting into a good writing rhythm? Need to get away from your office to get a change of perspective and a little privacy? Forget the coffee shop—join your colleagues on Thursday and Friday mornings from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in FCTL for a loosely structured writing session. We'll take five or six minutes each week to go around the room and state a goal for the time block and then spend the rest of the time working on our individual projects. Bring your own laptop or use an FCTL computer. And of course there will be coffee. Everyone is welcome!
