SIGN UP NOW FOR JULY 15TH TEACHING AND LEARNING DAY
On July 15th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Faculty Center will host our next Teaching and Learning Day. This event will feature Dr. Mary Ann Winkelmes from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, who will offer a workshop called “The Unwritten Rules of College: Transparency and Its Impact on Learning.” This event will provide a follow-up to our Winter Conference transparency theme. PRIDE FACULTY & STAFF ASSOCIATION (PFSA)
The UCF Pride Faculty & Staff Association is an organization representative of the University of Central Florida’s goal to be more inclusive and diverse. PFSA’s mission is to promote an environment which fosters cultural sensibility and enrichment by providing quality programming, networking opportunities, and guidance to UCF’s LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff on all UCF campuses. We have an active board and are busy preparing for exciting activities and events throughout summer and into the new school year! The vision for PFSA includes being a resource to the UCF administration and we divide our interests into three areas: education, advocacy, and outreach. We invite you to join us in being a more inclusive campus at UCF by participating in PFSA activities and programs! WEBCOURSES QUIZ EXTENSIONS
CDL has developed a Webcourses@UCF integration called Quiz Extensions. This integration provides one place to give students extra time to all existing quizzes/exams. Quiz Extensions is available in all Webcourses@UCF courses; however, it has to be added to the course menu. For directions on how to enable and use Quiz Extensions, please visit https://online.ucf.edu/support/webcourses/integrations/quiz-extensions/
2016 DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION IMPACT AWARDS
The UCF Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) presents an award to one student, faculty/staff and community member each year at the Diversity Breakfast. The deserving party may be nominated by a UCF community member and will be selected by a campus awards committee. Overall contributions to enhancing diversity and inclusion at UCF will be considered. FACULTY WRITING CLUB SUMMER 2016
Join a faculty writing club to start your summer off with a focus on productivity and camaraderie. Having trouble getting into a good writing rhythm? Need to get away from your office to get a change of perspective and a little privacy? Forget the coffee shop—join your colleagues on Thursday and Friday mornings from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in FCTL for a loosely structured writing session. We'll take five or six minutes each week to go around the room and state a goal for the time block and then spend the rest of the time working on our individual projects. Bring your own laptop or use an FCTL computer. And of course there will be coffee. Everyone is welcome!
