What are Collaborative Classrooms?
Collaborative classrooms are especially set up to facilitate collaborative/cooperative learning. Collaborative learning takes small groups of students and presents them with a problem, task or creative undertaking to leverage the social aspect of learning. It assumes that learning, as an active process, is challenged and engaged by their peers and that learning is maximized in the presence of synthesis, diverse viewpoints and social discourse (Smith & MacGregor, 1992).
